San Antonio is one of our FAVORITE USA destinations. This is why we’ve dedicated an entire guide to 45 Special Things to do in San Antonio.

Although it’s the second-largest city in Texas, San Antonio remains a hidden gem behind the shadows of Austin. It was originally inhabited (and still is) by Native Americans until was invaded by Spain… which then became Mexico. And evidence of this rich Mexican and Native American cultural heritage/history is celebrated throughout the beautiful city.

There is something in San Antonio for every type of traveler. Solo, family, kids, couples? San Antonio has lots of things for you! From outdoor spaces to cultural venues for art and music. And if you love food as much as we do, one fun way to experience this any time of year is to follow the San Antonio Food Trails. How ironic that Santa Fe is included on this list. I am sitting here in Albuquerque, which is an hour south and 2000 feet lower in elevation than Santa Fe, trying to figure out where to go to warm up. I’m planning on heading in the opposite direction of Santa Fe for sure.

    • Isabelle says:

Hehe, interesting! That’s why we wrote that we know it’s colder in SF, but if you’re in the New Mexico Area, might as well consider stopping by at least for a day trip… Other warm New Mexico destinations that we listed are: Alberqueque, Las Cruces, and Roswell. Or you can head west to Arizona. Or east to Texas! Cheers.
