There are over 10,000 lakes in the Adirondacks, making it a top destination for kayakers, canoers, fishermen, and boating enthusiasts. Here’s a list of our favorites!

1. Lake Flower & the Saranac Lakes

Although connected by the Saranac River, only the beautiful Lake Flower is actually in the village of Saranac Lake. But just nearby is the might Saranac Lake full of water sports and hiking trails.

2. Mirror Lake

Often confused with Lake Placid, Mirror Lake is located in the downtown of Lake Placid,  offering many water activities just steps away from hotels and restaurants.

3. Tupper Lake

While you can enjoy kayaking and canoeing in the Tupper Lake, the town of Tupper Lake also offer a lot of  unique activities and experiences, including the Raquette River Brewery and the  Wild Center.

4. Lower Ausable Lake

Near the small town of Keene,, lies Lower Ausable Lake, one of the most unique lakes in the Adirondacks. It is also near beautiful hiking trails like Ausable Chasm, Indian Head  and Rainbow Falls.

5. Lake George

Called “The Queen of American Lakes,” Lake George is an accessible weekend getaway from NYC for all things outdoors. It is an all-year destination!

6.  Great Sacandaga Lake

Just north of the Hudson River, the Great Sacandaga is the easiest  Adirondack lake destination where you can enjoy a lot of watersports and relaxation.

7. Lake Colby

Just north of the village of Saranac Lake is Lake Colby. It is the spot for those looking for relation and solitude as the lake is generally peaceful due to the prohibition of motored boats in its waters.
